Ad-Hoc & Full-Time Opportunities Available – Day & Night Shifts

We are currently recruiting for Residential Children’s Workers and Night Care Officers to support Coventry City Council’s children's homes. We have both ad-hoc shifts and full-time (37 hours/week) contracts available on an initial 3-month basis.

? Locations:
  • Doe Bank Lane (CV1 3AR)please note this is the correct location

  • Broad Lane, Doe Bank, and Dorchester Way Children’s Homes

? About the Homes:
  • Broad Lane & Doe Bank: 4-bed homes supporting children with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties (EBD)

  • Dorchester Way: 4-bed home for children with disabilities, requiring staff to deliver personal care

? Shifts Available: Ad-Hoc Shifts Day Shifts (EBD Homes):

  • Late: 10:00 – 23:00 (Sun–Thurs) | until 00:00 (Fri–Sat) – may include sleep-in

  • Early: 07:00 – 10:30

Dorchester Way (Disability Home):

  • Late: 14:00 – 23:00 – may include sleep-in

  • Early: 07:00 – 14:30

Night Shifts (All Homes):

  • Waking Nights: 22:00 – 07:00

Full-Time Contract Roles (Initial 3 Months):
  • Residential Support Worker – 37 hours/week (day shifts including potential sleep-ins)

  • Waking Nights Support Worker – 37 hours/week

? Urgent Ad-Hoc Cover Dates: Day Support:

  • 5th–28th August: 10:00 – 23:00

  • 6th & 24th August: Sleep-ins (10:00 – 23:00 + 07:00 – 11:00 next day)

Night Support:

  • 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 28th, 29th August

? Pay Rates:
  • Residential Support Worker: £13.05/hour + 33.3% waking night allowance (where applicable)

  • Night Care Officer: £14.36/hour + 14% shift allowance

? Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in children’s residential care, especially EBD or disability settings

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

  • DBS: Enhanced with Children’s Barred List (on the update service or newly processed)

  • Training (must be valid or willing to complete):

    • Health & Safety, Fire Safety, GDPR/Data Protection

    • Safeguarding – CSE/CE, Contextual Safeguarding, PREVENT

    • Autism, ADHD, Neurodiversity

    • First Aid

    • General Residential Training – Missing from Care, ACEs, PBS, etc.

  • Compliance: Schedule 2 compliance must be completed before start
