🌟 Job Opportunity: Social Work Assistant 🌟

Location: Seaham, County Durham (with flexibility to work from other offices across the Durham area)
Contract: Initial 3 months, with possibility of extension 
Working Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

We are currently seeking a committed and compassionate Social Work Assistant to join a dedicated team working to support children and young people in care. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining important family connections and helping children understand their life stories.
🔹 About the Role:
  • Supervise family time between children in care and their family members, ensuring safe, structured, and meaningful interactions.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider social work team, including:
    • Completing Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaires (SDQs) with carers.
    • Updating children's dental and health records on internal systems.
  • Complete life story work with children, supporting them to understand their personal histories and journeys.
🔹 What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience working directly with children in a professional setting is essential.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach to working with families.
  • You must be a car driver with access to a vehicle, as travel across the County Durham area will be required.
