Our client, a local authority based in Merton are looking for a Transport Planner to join their team. This is on a temporary ongoing contract basis.
The purpose of the role is to:
- To develop Merton's long term sustainable travel strategy / plan (walking, cycling and EV charging infrastructure).
- To develop and produce several strategy documents related to sustainable transport, including cycling, walking and electric vehicles.
- Provide technical guidance and delivery of cycle and walking routes and EV charging infrastructure.
- Conduct effective consultation processes which will include representing the Council at public and committee meetings requiring occasional attendance at evening meetings.
- Regular site visits within Merton.
- The post holder may also be required to work on other areas of transport planning and policy and on the delivery of sustainable transport projects.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;
A degree/HND or equivalent would be ideal but not essential.
Previous experience of Transport Planning, ideally within a Local Authority.
