About the Role

Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Hackney Council for a Young People's Pathway Officer to work closely with the Placement Manager and Strategic Resource Manager, reviewing incoming referrals and seeking care arrangements for looked after children and care leavers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering the Young Peoples Pathway Panel, all referrals to this pathway and supporting the wider management team with quality assurance of this provision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify high quality care arrangements and accommodation for looked after children and care leavers and other young people in need of support and accommodation, whilst ensuring best value for the local authority
  • Work closely with Social Work Units, in-house fostering social workers, and external providers to achieve goals
  • Experience in a children's or adults social care setting
  • Experience of placements commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and direct work with vulnerable young people

Requirements

  • Experience in a children's or adults social care setting is desirable
  • Experience of placements commissioning, contract management, quality assurance and direct work with vulnerable young people is also desirable

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
  • Enhanced DBS

Additional Information

  • This is a 9-month fixed term contract with the view of extension
  • Immediate start required
