Engineering Manager - Lancaster - Manufacturing - £60,000 to £68,000 + Benefits

My client is an established manufacturing business, providing a range of essential products to various markets across the UK, Ireland and Europe. My client is known for its innovative approach, high-quality standards and involvement in the full end-to-end production process, from raw materials processing to finished products. Supplying into a diverse range of industries, they have established a strong commitment to excellence in product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Planning Engineers across both planned and reactive maintenance
- Promote and maintain a safe operating culture with the team, ensuring all aspects of maintenance and installation are undertaken in line with relevant HSE legislation and company requirements
- Manage costs and resources, including waste control, labour, and spare parts, to optimise maintenance efficiency
- Oversee the CMMS system to ensure effective planning and execution of maintenance activities
- Audit and ensure compliance of the engineering data systems
- Implement innovative solutions to improve equipment reliability and energy efficiency
- Spearhead Capex projects, with a budget of around £800k, and contribute to the strategic direction of the site
- Ensure the successful recruitment, training, and development of the engineering team
- Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks across the Department
- Manage external contractors on site, ensuring they meet legal and company requirements
Candidate Requirements:
- Ideally educated to Degree Level in an Engineering discipline
- Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, gained within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
- Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical engineering disciplines
- Strong track record of team leadership and development, with a demonstrable track record of leading a multi-disciplinary team of Engineers
- The ability to manage multiple complex jobs simultaneously to meet the ongoing changes in operational priorities
- Excellent knowledge of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Continuous Improvement mindset, ideally with experience of driving CI and Operational Excellence projects
- Previous experience of managing Maintenance and CAPEX budgets, with the ability to drive cost-savings whilst maintaining the highest level of operational efficiency
- Previous experience of managing Capital Projects
