East Midlands (Derby Base Office)

35 Hours Per Week
£18.56 LTD / £15.93 PAYE (inc hol)
Support vulnerable individuals across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire by managing tenancies and properties in a vital housing service delivered by a leading national charity.
 
THE ROLE
We are currently recruiting for a Housing Management Worker to join a respected national charity, based in the East Midlands. You will manage a portfolio of properties, supporting tenants and ensuring compliance with housing and safety standards.
  • Provide tenancy support including benefit claims and signposting to support services
  • Complete initial and ongoing risk and needs assessments to determine eligibility
  • Manage sign-ups and ensure tenancy obligations are clearly communicated and upheld
  • Liaise with Asset Management to maintain property standards and report repairs
  • Order essential goods and furniture for new tenants
  • Monitor and maximise rent collection and address arrears
  • Build positive relationships with tenants, neighbours, and the local community
 
THE CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role such as Housing Officer, managing both properties and people.
  • Strong knowledge of tenancy management, housing law and rent arrears procedures
  • Experience conducting health and safety checks in supported housing
  • Familiarity with managing anti-social behaviour in line with organisational policy
  • Ability to keep accurate records and use housing management systems
  • Comfortable working independently across a large geographical area
 
THE CONTRACT
  • Working hours: 9am – 5pm, Monday to Friday (40 working hours, 35 paid with 5 hours lunch unpaid)
  • Travel required across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire – full driving licence, own vehicle, and business insurance essential
  • Hybrid working model: Mandatory office day on Wednesdays in Derby, remaining days in the community
  • 3-month contract, Temp to Perm
  • The pay for the role is £18.56 per hour LTD. The PAYE equivalent is £15.93 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
