Support Officer

Job Description

One of the largest housing associations in the South East is recruiting for a Support Officer to join their Young People's service in Hackney, to provide independent living and tenancy sustainment support to a caseload of service users.

The Role
The focus of this Support Officer is to provide tenancy and independent living support to service users aged 16-17, and this will include the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ensure the service is running at exceptionally high standard and meeting all the service specification.
  • Undertaking key work sessions, support planning, completing risk assessments and needs reviews usually spanning 3-4 cases at a time.
  • Supporting young people between the age of 16 & 17.
  • Support to develop the necessary skills to live independently, and to access training, education, and work.
  • Create an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence.



The Candidate
To be considered for this Support Officer role you will require previous experience working within a supported housing service, ideally working with young people, and be able to manage challenging behaviour.
Due to the vulnerable nature of the service users, you will require an enhanced DBS for this role..

The Contract
This is a permanent, full time Support Officer role, working 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis between 08:00 and 20:30, offering a salary of £23,116.
