About the Role: We currently have a vacancy within our Business Support Services HR team for a Business Support Assistant. This Grade 5 post offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team supporting recruitment and HR operations. The role is based at County Hall, Glenfield, with hybrid working arrangements available. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pre-employment processes, including meeting and greeting candidates, coordinating interviews, and processing DBS checks. You’ll be liaising with recruiting managers, booking rooms, and sending interview invites, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for all involved.

Key Responsibilities
- Meet and greet candidates attending pre-employment checks
- Process DBS checks and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate interviews including sending invites and booking rooms
- Maintain appointment diaries and filing systems
- Liaise with internal teams and external agencies
- Handle incoming/outgoing calls, emails, and correspondence
- Provide general clerical support including data entry, typing, and document production
- Assist with organising service and training events
- Maintain supplies and process orders via I-procurement
- Support administrative tasks related to recruitment and onboarding
Essential:
- Recent clerical and database experience in an office environment
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- Previous reception or customer-facing experience
- Knowledge of Leicestershire County Council and Children & Family Services
- Experience working in a large organisation or within HR/recruitment
- Familiarity with Ofsted requirements and inspection processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good customer care and interpersonal skills
- Competent in handling sensitive and confidential information
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in literacy and numeracy
- Word processing and audio typing skills
- Training in Microsoft Office applications

- Ability to work flexibly and attend occasional meetings or training outside normal hours
- Must be able to perform duties with reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010
