Salary: £15.66 Per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Scunthorpe
Client: North Lincolnshire Council
Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Full time – 37 hours per week
About the Role
The Complex Lives Support Officer will provide practical reablement support within the community to people with mental health needs, learning disabilities/difficulties, multiple disadvantages, substance misuse, and physical disabilities. The focus is on enabling independence, supporting individuals to sustain housing, recovery, and social inclusion.

About the Role
The Complex Lives Support Officer will provide practical reablement support within the community to people with mental health needs, learning disabilities/difficulties, multiple disadvantages, substance misuse, and physical disabilities. The focus is on enabling independence, supporting individuals to sustain housing, recovery, and social inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload under supervision with varying levels of complexity.
- Provide reablement support to help individuals develop skills to live independently and sustain a permanent tenancy.
- Contribute to assessments and reviews, ensuring needs are met and risks managed.
- Work collaboratively with service users, families, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- Undertake regular support work, including shifts in front-facing services.
- Assess financial circumstances, provide or arrange benefits advice, and assist with securing housing, property, and finances.
- Deliver practical and emotional support through individual and group interventions.
- Safeguard confidentiality, dignity, equality, diversity, and rights.
- Monitor and report on wellbeing, escalating issues where required.
- Maintain accurate records and provide measurable progress data.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Contribute to inclusive practices in the workplace.
- Awareness and understanding of housing, health, and social care.
- Experience providing practical and emotional support.
- Experience using IT systems effectively.
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding.
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection policies.
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary discussions.
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Ability to implement and review individual support plans.
- Strong communication skills, including with individuals with communication difficulties.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving and decision-making in line with support plans and safeguarding needs.
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with colleagues, service users, and external agencies.
- Ability to travel across North Lincolnshire to various housing, health, and social care locations.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, on a rota basis.
- Capacity to support individuals with daily living skills, including assisting those with mobility needs.
- Comfortable working in individuals’ homes and in potentially challenging environments.
- Subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
- Must speak fluent English (per Immigration Act 2016).
