A client within the Public Sector based in Bristol is currently recruiting for a Disrepair Manager to join their Housing and Landlord Services – Responsive Repairs team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing/repairs environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to act as the lead for housing disrepair and legal claims within the Response Repairs service, managing and leading the Disrepair Team to ensure all claims are investigated and resolved efficiently, providing expert advice to the council’s legal services, and driving continuous improvement across the service.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing and developing a team of Responsive Services Surveyors and support staff.
- Leading on all disrepair and housing condition claims, including providing expert witness reports and court representation.
- Monitoring and improving the delivery and quality of repairs carried out by internal teams and contractors.
- Managing budgets and ensuring value for money in service delivery.
- Implementing service improvements based on lessons learned from customer feedback and complaints.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
- Educated to degree level in building surveying, environmental health, or a relevant construction/housing qualification.
- Substantial senior-level experience within a housing service, including management of surveyors, technical staff, and contractors.
- Extensive knowledge of housing disrepair, relevant legislation, and legal processes.
- Experience in customer engagement and improving service delivery.
- Strong project and policy development skills.
- Experience managing budgets and financial performance.
