Salary: £15.66 per hour (Umbrella)

Contract Type: Temporary (3 months)
Hours: Part time - 24 hours per week (Three on three off rota shift pattern) 8 hour shift with 30 minutes unpaid break.
About the Role
Ensuring residents within the Doncaster Borough have access to the Home Alarm Service. Supporting vulnerable individuals to remain at home through assistive technology equipment, which is installed, maintained, and responded to by Assistive Technology Officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Work flexibly on a rota basis to support a 24/7 service, including bank holidays.
• Follow safeguarding, moving and handling, health and safety, and customer care principles at all times.
• Use IT systems to support equipment installation, maintenance, and alarm response.
• Respond to telecare alarm activations, providing emergency support in customers’ homes and acting accordingly.
• Install, test, maintain, and disconnect assistive technology equipment independently.
• Liaise with emergency services when required.

Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working with adults in a health and social care environment.
• Understanding of multi-disciplinary working.
• Awareness of the physical, social, and emotional needs of service users.
• Knowledge of Dementia, Safeguarding Adults, and Health & Safety.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to write clear daily reports.
• Ability to assess risks and evaluate individual abilities.
• Competence in using IT systems to support service delivery.
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• QCF Level 2 or a relevant Social Care qualification.

Other Requirements

• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the borough.
• English fluency in line with the Immigration Act 2016 (customer-facing role requires clear spoken English for advice and guidance).
