A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for an Environmental Health Officer to join their Environmental Health team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an initial 6-month contract with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within an Environmental Health environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to carry out the duties and functions of the Council in relation to Environmental Health, ensuring healthy living, working and recreational conditions for the community and supporting the delivery of statutory obligations.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Assisting with and developing the inspection programme for environmentally permitted processes (LA-IPPC Part A2 and Part B operations).
• Updating the Council's website for environmental permits.
• Creating and uploading the Public Register.
• Assisting in the delivery of an investigation concerning odour from P Waddington and Co. (1947) Ltd. with support from senior managers.
• Supporting the delivery of wider Pollution Team requirements including inspections, service requests and enforcement.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require at least 12 months’ experience carrying out the duties of an Environmental Health Officer (including placement during training).
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong knowledge of Environmental Health legislation and enforcement.
• Experience of risk-based inspection programmes and resolving service requests.
• Ability to provide clear, high level technical advice to a wide range of audiences.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering a £40 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £33 per hour PAYE equivalent).
