A client within the Public Sector based in South Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Stock Condition Surveyor to join their Repairs, Maintenance and Building Safety team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position until January 2026 with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing and property services environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role…
To provide technical expertise on all aspects of building maintenance, carrying out stock condition surveys across housing stock to identify repairs, maintenance and safety requirements. To maintain quality and safety throughout the delivery of both revenue and capital workstreams and ensure robust financial and operational control.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Carry out surveys of housing stock to identify required repairs and maintenance, producing reports and technical recommendations.
• Liaise with contractors, partners and customers to ensure works are delivered to specification, timescale and budget.
• Maintain computerised records and prepare reports using an iPad and associated systems.
• Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, landlord obligations and health & safety requirements.
• Contribute to the monitoring of contractor performance, KPIs and service delivery standards.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• A relevant Level 4 qualification (e.g. HNC/NVQ) or extensive experience in building surveying with willingness to achieve the qualification in a reasonable timescale.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes.
• Experience of surveying, diagnosing building defects and providing technical recommendations in a social housing environment.
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Knowledge of housing repairs, maintenance and construction methods.
• Experience of working with contractors and delivering services to KPIs.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office and use of mobile devices for reporting.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £25 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £19.00 per hour PAYE).
